    P5M2/SAS is based on latest Intel® Xeon® processor 3000 sequence(at FSB1066MHz), Intel® 3000 MCH, Intel® ICH7R and Intel® 6702 PXH 64-bit PCI Hub chipset, which achieves 102% better performance (SPECjbb2005) and 69% reduction in processor power (65W compared with 110W) than its predecessor, to provide immediate dual-processor level performance scale-up.

    One Design for Dual Use.
    There are five expansion slots in both serverboards, including: one PCI 32bit/ 33MHz, two PCI-X 133 / 100MHz, one PCI-E x16 (x 8 link), and one SODIMM socket for ASMB3-SOL. It's not only expandable for rack-mount chassis, but also meets most pedestal applications with BMC expansion. For better thermal solution, the DIMM slots are paralleled to the airflow to reduce air block and CPU is located at the border side to cool down effectively.

    Complete RAID Support.
    Besides 4 SATAII ports from ICH7R that provides Intel® Matrix Storage (Windows) support of RAID 0, 1, 0+1, RAID 5, there is also the LSI® 1068 PCI-X 8 ports SAS controller to provide 2 Mini-SAS x 4 connectors support of RAID 0, 1, 1E, and Optional LSI® ZCR (Zero-Channel-RAID) PCI-X card to upgrade to RAID 5. Users are able to choose different solution based on their own application demands.

    Provide One Slot for Modular IPMI 2.0 BMC Support.
    Optional ASUS ASMB3-SOL Card (Out-of-band monitor/troubleshooting) provides SOL, IPMI 2.0 security and further remote offline serviceability functions, this will significantly save MIS' effort in maintenance and minimize system downtime.

    Professional Network Connection Solution.
    Both are equipped with dual server class Broadcom® BCM5721 PCI-E Gb LAN ports, with "Teaming" and "Failover" function, the network connection will be smoother and faster. With more than 3 years' market experience, Broadcom® BCM5721 provides reliable & robust support with wide Linux driver support.
