Picking Up S.T.E.A.M.
The vinegar (an acid) and baking soda (a base) react to create carbon dioxide gas. This gas causes air pressure to build in the body of the rocket. When there is enough pressure, the contents are forced downward, propelling the rocket upward. That’s Newton’s Third Law of Motion at work -- for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!

- All the pieces needed to build your rocket, including rocket top, body with secret message compartment, chamber, base and fins (household ingredients not included)
