A brave and successful evolution of the Splinter Cell franchise, and a gamble won for UbiSoft. Definitely an improvement on the previous game in the series. UbiSoft - Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction price Buy Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Convictio...

To say that 'Conviction' pushes the boundaries of what Splinter Cell is, would be an understatement. As it really doesn't conform to the Splinter Cell principles, less even than Double Agent, I think that this rebellion was important. The story is very...
Smooth play interface, good storyline, good action as Sam now fairs well in combat, well polished and finished, fresh new look and feel.
Can feel quite linear and empty at points, cannot lock pick or hack anymore, Sam no longer uses the trademark knife, maybe too much emphasis on gun fighting and not enough on stealth...

The latest military-themed third-person action shooter game from Ubisoft endorsed by esteemed geek-writer Tom Clancy, Splinter Cell: Conviction is not the best. Now a much more tightly controlled sneak-peek-and-dispatch affair, you’ll still be mos...

I've often said that last year was the year of the sequels. This year is fast shaping up to be the year of similarities. By this I mean Darksiders is similar to Zelda, Dante's Inferno is similar to God of War and PlayStation Move is a lot like the Wii...

Splinter Cell has come a long way since it first appeared as an Xbox “killer app” way back in 2002. Now Sam Fisher is back – sans night-vision goggles – but can this haggard old soldier give titles like Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company a run for th...

First things first: this isn't Splinter Cell as you know it, and if that's going to be a problem, you're better off steering clear. After the diversions of Splinter Cell: Double Agent and an initial, aborted attempt to radically reinvent the series wi...

Sam Fisher returns in a highly charged action game designed to test the skills of stealth and combat veterans alike...
A faster and more agile stealth action game. Mark and Execute can be very satisfying or just a useful tactical tool. Some great voice acting, even from none-important characters. Offers a good challenge. A lot of fun tactical options. Some cool environments that are different for the series. Co-op is great. Sandbox level design allows re-playability.
Not traditional Splinter Cell gameplay, which some may not be happy about. Short single-player campaign. Some character models do not look good. Interrogations aren't as cool as they could have been. Experienced a few "out of sync" crashes in co-op.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction will probably be the most divisive game in the franchise's history. While Ubisoft claimed it halted production on a previous version of the game to bring Sam back to basics, the "new" version of Conviction is still quite a departure for the series. The Splinter Cell fundamentals remain but the idiosyncrasies of the franchise (hacking and unlocking mini-games, moving downed enemies, and night-vision goggles) have all been thrown away. This might sound lik...

Splinter Cell: Conviction’s troubled development did not bode well for gamers eagerly awaiting Sam Fisher’s next adventure. Ubisoft Montreal went back to the drawing board late in the development cycle, bringing on a new creative director and scrappin...

A long and interesting developmental life lies behind Splinter Cell Conviction. It started off completely mad – in terms of its wild, bearded protagonist, and also by way of an eccentric ‘stealth in the crowd’ dynamic that caused any and all who saw it...
To our minds, there were two ways Ubisoft could have approached its next Splinter Cell title: have the courage of its convictions, and develop ‘Hobo Fisher’ into something of more depth, or press on with the usual Splinter Cell formula. Conviction, whi...
